Fall Season Schedules Posted

Hello All,

Have a great holiday weekend everyone! Reminder that there are no scheduled activities over this holiday weekend.  This will wrap up our pre-season. We've learned a lot, stumbled through some items but overall, it was successful. Some items to note:

  • Julian Middle School won both matches (boys and girls) for the first ever Julian vs Brooks Middle School Exhibition. The boys match ended in PKs and went to the 7th PK! Nicholas Lopez had 3 PK saves for Julian!
    • Thanks to everyone that participated, we will look forward to schedule the re-match in the Spring.
  • We had payer evaluation matches for Div 4 and Div 3 Girls. It was a bit unorganized, but I think we are set for a well-balanced and competitive season.
    •  Thanks to all the coaches for your patience and participation.
    • The process needs improvement, but we will look to repeat Coaches picking teams in the future for Div 4 and Div 3.
  • We had ref training and have initiated more recruiting to help with our lack of refs at matches.
    • Thank you to Erik for coordinating.
    • We also avoided 8:00 AM matches as some of the refs avoid signing up for those early morning games.
    • We need more adult refs, please reach out to Erik to see if you can get trained as a ref. You can even ref your own players game (if your an honest ref :))
  • The season schedule has now been posted for all the teams.
    • We did try to keep your game times more consistent throughout the season than in the past, so that parents can plan.
  • The tournament portion of the season (Div 2 thru Div4) will be the last 3-4 weeks of the season.
    • More information to come on the tournament play as we get closer, but keep that last weekend in October open for the final matches.
    • The game time and location for those last weekends might change a little as we get closer, but should remain around the same time, i.e. it might change to 10:00 AM vs 9:00 AM, depending upon the matchups for the tournament.
  • We will not have makeup games for rainouts. If a field is either closed or we think it's likely the park district will close the field, we will proactively switch the game time and location to a turf field, if we have room. If we switch last minute, it's likely there will not be refs.
  • Coaches should be picking up their team uniforms next week and have them to distribute to the players in time for the first game.
    • Thank you Paul for all your coordination on the uniforms.
