American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

Oak Park AYSO Region 697

Oak Park AYSO is operated entirely by volunteers. We couldn't keep our program going without all the support of community members like you. We need coaches and team parents for the season ahead and are actively looking to grow our board and division management team.

Board meetings are 2nd Wednesday of the month (except December). We have roles that are as small as a day or two of commitment each season and will happily right-size a role for a willing volunteer.

Contact [email protected] if you are interested in joining our team.

Coach
The AYSO volunteer position of coach is intended to develop in players a positive image of themselves, their teammates, coaches, game officials, and opponents, and provide a good role model for players. Additionally, the coach will develop in his/her players the appropriate soccer skills as recommended in the AYSO coaching manuals. Expected time commitment should be 2 to 4 hours a week.

Assistant Coach

Assistant Coaches help to cover practices and game days and support the Coach in kid wrangling and instruction. Expected time commitment should be 2 to 4 hours a week.

Co-Registrar

One of AYSO's philosophies is the specific responsibility of the Region Registrar. Open Registration means all children are invited to play regardless of skill, experience or connections.

The Registrar is vital to the process of fair and open registration, and every Region needs a reliable person to do the job. AYSO offers orientation, BASIC (Board and Staff Introductory Certification) and Safe Haven certification, workshops and other training for every Registrar. The position requires an understanding of the registration process and the need for confidentiality, excellent organizational ability, some computer skills and a background check.

In Oak Park AYSO, this is a shared role. We currently have an experienced Registrar who needs a partner to start training for the Spring 2017 season.

Assistant Division Coordinators

Offering young athletes Balanced Teams is one of AYSO's core philosophies because maintaining a level playing field keeps the focus on the game, having fun and developing soccer competence, not winning or losing. Every child deserves the chance to play, to gain confidence and to do so in an environment that is encouraging.

It is the Division Coordinator's responsibility to assign teams and coaches and handle the organization of divisions within Oak Park. We are seeking volunteers to support our current coordinators, particularly in our larger lower divisions (U8 & U10).

Safety Director

The game cannot be played without balls, nets and fields. The Safety Director makes sure all the important equipment is available and in good condition. The Safety Director also has knowledge on all the ways AYSO keeps its players and volunteers safe, including Soccer Accident Insurance, Safe Haven™ procedures, first aid protocols and more.
